  • Ottchil is a traditional Korean lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree. Applied by hand in delicate layers, it creates a rich, durable finish that is naturally glossy, water-resistant, and long-lasting. Valued for both its beauty and resilience, Ottchil embodies centuries of craftsmanship and care.

Where the Artisan Lives

This collection took shape as Sam, both maker and artist, worked through the real challenges of sustaining a creative life. His quiet persistence became the grounding force behind this new work.

The forms recall a house—a space for both living and making. From this idea, Sam created a series of whimsical yet functional pieces: incense holders, trinkets.

Each is made from a blend of timbers, textures, and markings—an honest reflection of the maker’s hand.
